THE CORONATION, MARY'S GOLD, Calendula officinalis, IN BLUE

$23.00

These are marigolds (Mary's Gold) for the Coronation of Our Lady. This particular genus (Calendula) was supposedly named Mary's Gold by St. Hildegard of Bingen in the twelfth century. The marigolds we normally think of today are also named Mary's Gold after the Blessed Mother, and they were deemed that by missionaries in Mexico centuries later.

This is a print of an original botanical watercolor painting by Katrina Harrington accompanied by her calligraphy.
