This is the original 5x7in painting "St. Joseph Lily," done in watercolor by Katrina Rose Harrington.
Legend has it that when it came time for the Virgin Mary to be betrothed, a sign was sent from God to show which unwed man from the House of David would be the one designated by God to marry her. St. Joseph's staff bloomed! Hosea 14:5, "The just man shall blossom like the lily." If you pray the Liturgy of the Hours, this Bible passage is in the responsory in evening prayer on the Solemnity of St. Joseph (March 19th).
Original paintings are signed and then sealed with a UV archival finish to protect it and prevent any fading or damage from UV light. Originals are sold unframed to allow the patron to choose matting and framing to their taste.
